In our design concept team we design visions for your future vehicles and transform them into virtual and real models. Here we support you by drawing on our specialists in the areas of Design Studio, surface development, and modeling.
In developing our design concepts, we carefully consider the specific requirements of your end customers in the various international target markets and ensure that these concepts are on a sound technical basis. From the very beginning of the concept phase, we ensure an optimal sound cost-benefit framework for the subsequent design and production processes.

With the EDAG Design Studio, design is about more than just the creation of visually appealing forms. That's because product and brand are inseparably linked and mutually interdependent. The result of your design process must be something that ultimately strengthens your brand. Realizing your brand value and your company's brand message is the centerpiece of our product conception and creative product design processes.  In addition to our expertise in brand strategy, you also benefit as a customer from our design team's depth of experience, including extensive international experience. Mastery of all manual and computer-aided design techniques (including sketching, renderings, and ALIAS models) is an integral part of our solid skill repertoire. With numerous successful design projects completed in the area of interior/exterior development for both national and international customers, we feel confirmed in the strength of our design philosophy which maintains a strict focus on technical feasibility at each step.The quality of our work and our innovation capabilities have been on public display since 1999 with our concept cars, which we have traditionally presented at the Geneva Motor Show.

Surface development is an important interface between design and the downstream development departments. Using both clay models and virtual models, we strike just the right balance between design requirements and technical feasibility and on that basis ensure adherence to your project timeline and requirements.
In the Surface Digital area we create complete, high-quality 3D surface data records based on your styling concepts and requirements, and in alignment with concept development. In creating all of the visible surfaces of a new exterior or interior, we bring together styling data and information from the design process. In this way we ensure the feasibility of design models at each phase of the design process. From the first rough surface in the model assurance phase up until submission of the Class A surface for serial production.

The team in the "Surface Simulation" department also creates photo-realistic diagrams as well as virtual reality scenes. The process yields virtual design models and show cars that support collaboration in modeling. Technical simulations in the ergonomic and conceptual area, such as reflection, light, eye-point studies, etc., form the foundation for your marketing efforts (configurators, short product films, etc.).

Our modeling centers are places where high-precision physical models for your future vehicles are developed. Detail, craftsmanship, and a feel for flawless surfaces are qualities that distinguish the methodology of our model designers. Through consistent use of state-of-the-art production technologies, we ensure solutions that are cost-effective and on time.
