Wind energy plants
The load calculation of wind energy plants is a relevant cornerstone of the development and base for the structure of your turbine. EDAG Group can offer you the expertise and support in load calculation in the complete product development process up until the certification programme. In various iteration processes we can build the basis for an ideal balance between revenue optimisation and minimisation of the load to reduce the costs of the wind energy plant. To meet the special requirements of primarily the larger wind turbines from the multi-megawatt class we use in addition to the usual WEA load calculation tools multi-body simulation programmes - this allows a differentiated view of the dynamic drive train performance including the electrical system and the controller within the multi-body model of a wind energy plant.

For the simulation of offshore wind turbines the usual tools for load calculation were further developed to include e.g. Morison equation, the interaction of the waves and wind loads with the tower and blade structure.
Using our extensive simulation tools we can calculate performance curves, extreme operational stability and dynamic performance of your wind energy plant. Using the method "design of experiments" we can improve the efficiency of your wind turbine and reduce the weight and therefore the costs.
