Intelligent charging of electric vehicles
EDcharge, the EDAG Group's close-to-production, in-house development, is a failsafe, modular on-board charger with a charging capacity of 10 KW.
Highlight: one further aspect of the Integration of electric vehicles into the grid, besides the transfer of energy, is the exchange of information between vehicle and infrastructure. This is a basic requirement for the automated legitimation and implementation of variable accounting and tariff systems, and for the realisation of new services such as Internet or home-synchronisation. Communication is by means of a power line (smart charge protocol) between the intelligent charging station and vehicle charge management.
For the first time ever, our in-house development provides not only the intelligent charging scenarios, but also features a router function. The intelligent charger has a rapid data transfer line, and provides information via USB TCP/IP linkage. This enables the user to utilise a fast Internet connection to access various web services.
With this integrated communication and router function, the EDAG Group offers a significant degree of added value to the electric vehicle user and his future mobility requirements. High performance combined with data transmission open up completely new service prospects for electric mobility, and room for the development of new business models.
