EDpowerdrive

With the "EDpowerdrive" electric system, the EDAG Group for the first time ever presents a concept specifically developed with urban delivery transport in mind. This is an electric drive system which can be fitted in addition to the existing power unit in transport and delivery vehicles. A battery pack integrated in the storage compartment transfers the required energy to the rear axle via a separate drive unit. This means that the standard drive - combustion engine on the front axle - remains unaffected, and the driver can choose between the two different drive systems.

The diesel engine is the obvious choice for long-distance trips. For urban deliveries, the electric drive system, emission-free and practically soundless, then comes into its own. In connection with the second development stage, "Second Shift", the system ensures that there will be sufficient energy capacity available for a second 8-hour shift. With a target range of up to 100 km and a maximum feasible speed of 65 kmph in electric-only operation, this creates a useful radius of action for service in urban areas.
