Who can I contact if I have questions relating to my application?
If you have applied for a particular job, the name of the person to contact will have been given in the job advertisement. People sending blind applications can apply to our central office in Fulda for information, Tel. +49 661 6000-843. This number can also be used to obtain information on the current status of an application.
Is there anything to bear in mind if certificates have been issued abroad?
If certificates have been issued abroad, we will require recognition of your qualifications ("Anerkennungsbescheid"), e.g. school leaving certificate or degree, from the Office for the Recognition of Certificates ("Zeugnisanerkennungsstelle"). Proof can also be obtained by means of an assessment test ("Feststellprüfung") at a German embassy, or a German language test (DSH test), by means of which a school leaving grade is worked out. Our recommendation: all attachments should be assembled together in one data package, if possible as a pdf file. No particular order is called for. There is no need for a separate covering letter unless you are applying for a study course or apprenticeship. With certificates relating to study courses, the German "Diplom" is equivalent to other degrees, such as a bachelor's or master's degree. Interim results can be uploaded under the heading "Interim Results". All together, the attachments to an application must take up no more than 8 MB disk space.
Can a letter of application be addressed to a specific person?
The name of the person to contact is given in our job advertisements. If you are sending a blind application or applying for an internship, the salutation can be kept general.
I like the sound of a number of jobs. Do I have to apply more than once?
It can sometimes happen that you are interested in a number of jobs that have been posted. As a general rule, it is quite all right for you to apply for several jobs with your profile. It is, however, important to limit the number of applications you submit, and not to allow the work area you are targeting to become too diffuse. We do prefer it if a person applies for a specific job consistent with his/her profile, showing that he/she is able to make a conscious decision! Random applications that are lacking in focus do not made a good impression.
Please send only one application if you are hoping to start an apprenticeship. If necessary, you can mention a possible alternative in your application.
What happens after I have sent off my application?
As soon as we receive your application, you will receive an automatically generated acknowledgement of receipt. Your application then goes into our application management system. The system features no parameters for filtering applications; an employee checks each one personally, and lets you have his or her initial feedback as quickly as possible.
What data can I change after I have sent off my application?
You can update your curriculum vitae, educational data, language and IT skills any time you like. In addition to this, attachments can also be added throughout the entire recruitment process. Following a brief update period, the system accepts the new details, and then shows them in the data overview. Things that cannot be changed after your application has been received are your accompanying letter and any details you have given in the job-specific questionnaire.
What happens to my data?
Your data is stored in our system until such time as you inform us that you no longer wish to pursue your application. All details are subject to data protection law.
Can I break off an application process and then re-commence it at a later date?
Yes, because you are sent personal login data consisting of a user name and password at the beginning of the application process. You can use these to log back into your profile ( "login" or see top right ), and add the missing data.
Can I withdraw an application?
Yes. However, once an application has been withdrawn, it can no longer be re-submitted. A new application must then be submitted.
I have forgotten my LOGIN password. What can I do?
You can have new login data sent to your e-mail address. To do this, click on "login" (see top right) and then on "Forgotten password". A temporary password and your user name will then be sent to the e-mail address you have given.
I receive the following message:
"E-mail address already registered, please log in". If you see this message, it means you have already sent us an application. You can use your existing profile for further applications. To do this, log in ("login", see top right) and either update or complete your details. Once you have done this, you can send in further applications.
