from 13th to 25th September 2011 in Frankfurt
Electric and hybrid powertrains and lightweight design – closely interlinked issues which will have a decisive effect on future vehicle concepts. The EDAG Group, the world’s leading vehicle designer, will be putting the spotlight on its concepts and solutions for the further reduction of weight and Co2 emissions for vehicle and production plants at the IAA 2011. Besides new lightweight multi-material concepts – from GRP modules and organo sheet through to thin-walled cast metal parts – we will also be presenting our input to the international steel industry‘s ”FutureSteelVehicle“ project. For ”WorldAutoSteel“, we have developed a body concept for conventional and alternative drives, to act as a demonstrator.
A significant weight reduction - the body weighs 188 kg - has been achieved through the steel lightweight design of the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).

Also in the field of production technic EDAG demonstrates its competency in the field of future energy-efficient manufacturing, through its in-house development of a "lightweight grip" and a "lightweight fixture".
For the complex area of electric mobility, we will be presenting solutions for the entire process landscape: starting with the interface to the energy providers by means of an intelligent charging system; on to the integration of energy stores in the vehicle architecture and human-machine interface concepts; and finally a presentation of ”Edpowerdrive“, our modular drive system.

We look forward to welcoming you at our regular stand in Hall 5.1, Stand B04, and also at our special stand in the VDA Hall for electric mobility – Hall 4.0, Stand D32.
