Our Roller hemming systems are cost-efficient alternative to conventional pressing because of their lower investment and maintenance costs and their shorter developement and completion.

Roller hemming is a new joining process. It is used in the production of attachment parts such as vehicular doors, hatchback, the sun-roof opening or the roller hemming of wheel arches at BIW. As a result of reduced process forces a better quality of complex sheet metal surface geometry is possible. The accuracy to size and tolerances are controlable. The robot program can be influenced selectively.
Furthermore the roller hemming system is extremely flexible. Different part types can be produced within one manufacturing cell. The hemming robot can take on other jobs within the cell. Apart from this the roller hemming cell can be extended without any problems e.g. to source out for spare parts manufacturing.
When hemming the border of the outer metal sheet is bent around an inner metal sheet. Normally a press with complex force geometry is used. When roller hemming the plates are clamped into a tool bed. The roller hemming tool is attached to an industrial robot. Two rollers are attached onto the roller hemming tool which are necessary for the different hemming work steps.
We continuously develop our existing applications and will open up new fields in the near future.
