Our Roller hemming systems are a cost-efficient alternative to conventional pressing because of their lower investment and maintenace cost and their shorter developement and completion.

The EDHS 180° Rollerhemming tool is working with four pairs of rollers. One roller is doing the forming, the other one is absorbing the forces so as not to burden the robot. Contrary to common roller hemming, no hemming bed or die is necessary.
This roller hemming tool is used e.g. for hemming the flanges of a sun-roof in 4 steps for steel and 5 steps for aluminium.
A perfect application for EDHS 180° is the so called flying roller hemming. The part is handed over by a robot to the stationary EDHS 180°. The robot picks up the part, applies adhesive, loads the reinforcement, performs the hemming, and releases the assembly. For the above described process, a space of 25m² is sufficient. The cycle time for this process can be 120 sec.
The sun-roof-flange can also be manufactured conventionally. The part is fixed to a stationary device and the flange is closed using a robot with the roller hemming tool EDHS 180°.
According to this the EDAG system offers the best possible flexibility. The stationary hemming tool EDHS 180° is rigidly mounted. The intelligent surface protection device either caters for the different part geometries or can be exchanged for new parts.
When model changing only the surface protection device (hemming frame) and program needs changing. Due to flexibility many different models can be produced in one single cell.
