EDAG and JSW plan innovative fleet of electric commercial vehicles

Warsaw/Wiesbaden, 2nd August 2018  The EDAG Group and the Polish JSW Group have plans to develop a multi-variant fleet of monovalent commercial vehicles. The two companies signed a corresponding LOI at the end of July. In the first stage, the ambitious project target provides for the development of an electrically powered platform. Working on this basis, numerous body derivatives or superstructures will then be developed for the specific use on the JSW Group's company sites. The EDAG Group, the official engineering partner, will be responsible for the entire conception and implementation of the comprehensive engineering project together with the company POLMOT, which is also a member of the joint project team.

The JSW Group is one of the largest employers in Poland and one of the country's largest mining companies. The use of electric-powered vehicles there is not just sustainable - further variants such as transport or snow removal vehicles can be flexibly manufactured using the platform strategy. The first stage, involving initial design layout and evaluation by EDAG development specialists, will be carried out in the next few months.

"Our expertise in complete vehicle development coupled with our know-how in the fields of eMobility and digitization make us an ideal partner to help JSW with this extraordinary project. EDAG has been present in Poland since 1990. Today, we have an extensive local capacity that we are going to further develop in the upcoming years," explains Cosimo De Carlo, CEO of the EDAG Group.
