EDAG presents digital business models at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona 2018

Taking "data is the new currency" as their motto, the EDAG Group exhibited at the show for the first time ever, presenting their digital business models for the mobility of the future.

Wiesbaden, 9th March, 2018 The World Mobile Congress (MWC) in Barcelona is one of the most important leading trade fairs for the digital and mobile world. More than 100,000 trade visitors from all around the world were there to discuss the latest technologies and developments from fields such as artificial intelligence, mobile data transfer and the Internet of Things (IoT). Taking "data is the new currency" as their motto, the EDAG Group exhibited at the show for the first time ever, presenting their digital business models for the mobility of the future.

Visitors to the EDAG stand were able to see and experience the latest technologies. Having been welcomed by chatbot "Pepper", prospective customers then went on to get an initial impression of EDAG and the latest trends and developments. Artificial intelligence and a user-friendly HMI concept ensured that conversation flowed, dispelling any initial reserve.

"With our appearance at the MWC, we have sharpened our profile and increased perception above and beyond the classic automotive industry. With our ideas for the mobility of the future, we confirm our position as an innovative partner to the worldwide automotive industry and beyond," explains Jürgen Vogt, CEO of the EDAG Group.

The optical highlight of the appearance was the EDAG show car "Soulmate", in which experts of the EDAG brand Feynsinn provided application examples of virtual reality in a self-driving vehicle.

The vehicle also served to illustrate new, digital business models. Nowadays, for example, with their sensors and cameras, automobiles are already ideally suited to generating data at any time and any place. EDAG shows ways of how, with the help of connectivity solutions and big data analysis, this data can be effectively structured and prepared for specific purposes. A wide variety of additional real-time services are developed on this basis, and can create added value, for both drivers and providers of further services.

With CShark, EDAG subsidiary BFFT also presented an intelligent system for end-to-end testing in the Internet of Things. "Particularly for digitisation specialists like us, the show in Barcelona was an important milestone. The car of the future is merging more and more with modern mobility services – and this is exactly where, working with EDAG, we form a strong team," comments Markus Fichtner, CEO of BFFT Gesellschaft für Fahrzeugtechnik mbH.
